Weekend Progress

I suspect I should be wiring by the end of the week.  Most of the woofer foam has been applied.  I need to get my hands on the right router bit for flush mounting the port and the binding post plate, but that can happen later – actually I can’t route rabbet for the port until the cabinet is closed up, as the flange is wider than the rear panel, creeping into the edges of the side panels a little bit.

I’m getting more and more nervous about the granite baffles.  I can’t get a straight answer on how much material will be removed from the width of the panel when they roundover the edges.  Without knowing that within a close range of the truth, I can’t appropriately oversize the piece.  I think I’ll have to do some before and after measurements next time I see them doing such a profile.

Chamfered the back of the baffles

More chamfer

Wouldn't it be nice if the tweeter makers would position the +/- tabs in a symmetrical manner, relative to the mounting holes?

Cutting the foam for the woofer chambers.

Some more foam to apply, but this one is getting close.

Gluing the mid chamber and outer top to the second cabinet. This is number 2 of 4 of the more difficult glue/clamp jobs. 3 and 4 being the last piece, the 2nd side.

Same as above, from the other side.

This is the closest corner in the picture above.
